Terms of Service

1. Service Description

PaperNudge is a document collection and client onboarding automation platform for accounting firms. The service includes automated follow-up emails, AI document classification, client upload portals, and intake questionnaires. PaperNudge is an operational tool and does not provide tax, financial, or legal advice.

2. Account Terms

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• One firm account per organization. No multi-account abuse
• You must be at least 18 years old to use this service

3. Payment Terms

PaperNudge offers a 14-day free trial with a credit card required upfront. After the trial, your card will be automatically charged the applicable monthly rate ($97/month for founding members, $197/month for regular). You can cancel anytime through the Settings page or Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial months.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Upload malicious files or attempt to compromise the system
• Send spam or unsolicited communications through the platform
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software
• Share your account credentials with unauthorized parties
• Exceed reasonable usage limits (e.g., automated bot uploads)

5. Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of all data you upload to PaperNudge, including client information and documents. PaperNudge acts as a data processor on your behalf. We do not claim any ownership rights over your content. You can delete all your data at any time by deleting your account.

6. AI Classification Disclaimer

PaperNudge uses AI to classify uploaded documents. While we strive for accuracy, AI classification is not guaranteed to be correct. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying classifications before relying on them for tax preparation or other professional services. PaperNudge provides tools to manually override any AI classification.

7. Limitation of Liability

PaperNudge is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for: missed deadlines due to email delivery issues, incorrect document classifications, data loss beyond what our standard backup procedures cover, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime. We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects service availability. We will provide reasonable notice for planned maintenance when possible.

9. Modifications

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
